This course differs from “Writing Skills” in that it focuses solely on writing for pleasure. However, this is used as a means of enhancing students’ overall writing skills. By studying and applying what they have learnt about adjectives, adverbs and figurative language, students can make their writing more colourful and enjoyable.

What is a debate? Does it differ from an argument? How does it differ from an argument? In this course, students can explore these questions and lots more by learning the art and rules of debating. Popular issues are selected for mock debates.

This highly interactive hands-on class enhances students’ creativity, oral skills, communication skills and critical thinking skills. Students are given the chance to study age-appropriate scripts, engage in dramatic reading and ultimately work in groups to plan and produce their own masterpieces.

Tasks can enhance students’ writing, reading, listening and speaking skills. Lesser known sports such as sumo, figure-skating and dogsled racing are explored to introduce international events and cultures.

This popular course prepares new Form 1 students for secondary school. Students become familiar with their school and peers as they learn essential vocabulary words, classroom phrases and skills. Interactive activities and exercises ensure that students have an enjoyable learning experience.

This challenging course is great for strong, confident students. Students study newspapers and newsletters to analyze different types of articles in order to brainstorm for their newsletter. They conduct interviews, perform research, write drafts and work in groups and individually to meet deadlines and produce their very own school newsletter.

The way people communicate with colleagues and clients differs greatly to how they communicate with friends and family. This course focuses on formal and polite exchanges in person, over the telephone and in writing. Students learn essential communication tools applicable at all stages of life.

This course features all forms of writing. Students can compose emails, letters, complaints, essays, narratives and various other pieces. Small classes ensure constructive feedback for each student.
